The Whitfield County Board of Education approved new elementary school construction in the Cedar Ridge community and expansion work at Dug Gap Elementary at their Tuesday night meeting.
In October of 2007, school officials completed purchase of almost 50 acres on Cedar Ridge Road to be used for a new elementary school planned to open in fall 2009.
