U.S. District Judge Jack T. Camp also ordered 41-year-old Kevin G. Wiggins of Ellenwood to pay almost $6.5 million in restitution to 12 lenders who were defrauded, including Fannie Mae and a number of banks.
Prosecutors said Wiggins bought 88 houses, claimed they were renovated and rented, and used straw purchasers to obtain fraudulent loans with the help of a corrupt appraiser.
Officials say in some cases the houses just had finished fronts while other parts of structure were missing.
In addition to Wiggins, Camp was scheduled to sentence 37-year-old appraiser Frank W. Astwood of Hampton, and Wiggins sister and office manager, 59-year-old Lydia Wiggins Christopher of Union City
