The hearing, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, was ordered by Gov. Sonny Perdue after five Clayton County residents petitioned him to unseat the board members for violating state laws.
The Clayton County school district is slated to lose its accreditation Sept. 1 unless it meets nine mandates from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. A February report from SACS blames the school district's woes on a dysfunctional school board that does not act in the best interest of its 52,000 students
