Shorter College student Karan Morrow, 46, checks her list as she buys course textbooks at the Shorter College bookstore during Shorter’s first day of classes Wednesday. Morrow, who says she already has a degree in nuclear technology, drives from Atlanta every day working to earn a degree in music. She says she hopes one day to work as an orchestra conductor.
