James Thomas, a former CEO at Rome's Redmond Regional Medical Center, has been named president of parent company HCA's South Atlantic Division in Charleston, S.C.

As president, Thomas will be in charge of seven hospitals and seven ambulatory service centers in the newly-formed division.

Previously, Thomas was CEO of HCA's North Florida Regional Medical Center. He has also held positions with HCA as vice president of operations at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon and as CEO at Redmond
