A Rome woman who was found shoplifting at TJ Maxx on Turner McCall Boulevard remained in Floyd County Jail this morning after being arrested Friday, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports:

Friday around 5 p.m., Samantha Darlene Carter, 33, of 117 Piedmont Ave., was found shoplifting $66 worth of shirts, pants and socks with a 15-year-old by switching the tags off of expensive items for tags with a lower price.

They were caught on closed circuit video cameras in the act and were held by store employees until the police arrived.

Before being taken to jail, Carter was searched and police found three tablets of suspected Soma and a silver folding defense knife.

She remains in jail this morning on charges of misdemeanor pills not in original container, possession of a concealed weapon and shoplifting
