The date to mark on your calendars is Oct. 22 at the historic DeSoto Theatre.
The recipient organizations of the proceeds from the gala will be Rome Little Theatre, the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation and the Magnolia Foundation, which was formed to benefit underserved women and men in Floyd, Polk and Chattooga counties by providing vouchers for colonoscopy screenings.
Reserved tickets for the Ladies Night Out event are $25 and may be purchased in advance at the Rome Little Theatre Box Office or on the RLT Web site.
Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and will include a tapas box dinner with wine, a women’s expo offering a variety of women’s specialty goods, medical screening information, services and door prizes.
Then RLT’s production of “Steel Magnolias” begins at 7 p.m. and “will be one of the many highlights of the evening celebrating ladies,” say organizers, who also point out that men are welcome to attend.
Part of the celebration will include Magnolia magazine’s recognition during intermission of some of Rome’s “steel magnolias” nominated by the magazine’s readers.
