Man arrested in Rome on felony fraud charges

A Florida man was arrested by Rome law enforcement Thursday and charged with theft and fraud.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Mark Steven Rivers, 51, of 2566 Tramore Place in Orange Park, Fla., was arrested by deputies at 9 a.m. He was charged with felony financial card transaction fraud and theft by deception.

Rome police warrants stated that in August, Rivers obtained a payment of $194 in a deceitful manner, having already obtained the payment from another person. He also allegedly obtained credit card information from a victim and made an unauthorized charge of $197.95.

He remains in jail without bail.
