According to Rome police reports:
The Wilma Drive man told police that he answered a knock on his door and found a large man wearing dark blue jeans, a black jacket, a white mask covering the bottom half of his face and a dark blue toboggan pulled down over his eyes.
The suspect pointed a nickel-plated revolver in his face and told him to drive to the Wachovia Bank location on Shorter Avenue, where he was forced to withdraw $300 from his account. The suspect also made the man give up his debit card and pin number for the account.
After driving to the Redmond Circle location, the suspect told the man to drive to the Martha Berry Boulevard location and try to withdraw more money after failing to be able to get more cash from a Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union ATM, but was unable to since his account was overdrawn.
He was finally forced to drive to a Rogers Drive location where the suspect ran away toward Widgeon Way and Technology Parkway.
There were no suspects in custody at the time of the report.
