Charlsie Broome and Jessica Womble each homered and Jessica Penney tossed a complete game shutout to lead Shorter College to a 7-0 win over Berry College in game two of a two-game set on a frigid Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Hawks routed the Lady Vikings 11-2 in the first game of the series en route to a sweep of their cross-town rivals while improving to 2-0 on the year.

In the nightcap, Broome and Womble went yard as part of a three-run sixth inning that put Shorter in front, 6-0.

This is Berry's first season of collegiate softball. For more, see Thursday's Rome News-Tribune.
