Howell is a 1995 graduate of Berry who has showcased his considerable vocal talents for audiences worldwide. In 2005, he earned a prestigious Fulbright award to study and perform in Australia. His Berry recital will feature a variety of works ranging from Australian art song to traditional concert literature.
The new concert series was launched as part of the 100th anniversary of music education on the Berry campus. The series is meant to showcase a wide variety of musical genres, styles and instrumentation. This year’s lineup has included such diverse acts as the Alabama Symphony String Quartet, baritone Elem Eley, the Atlanta Super Band, pianist Joe Chapman and Howell, the first member of Berry’s alumni community to be featured.
“We are delighted in the success of the Berry College Concert Series,” said Adam Hayes, artist-in-residence in Berry’s music department. “Audiences have represented a blended cross-section of our campus and the Northwest Georgia community. We have received tremendously positive feedback on each concert.”
