A 54-year-old woman was injured Friday when her car flipped after striking a telephone pole on Old Cedartown Road, police said.

According to Georgia State Trooper Donnie Cochran:

Judy Blankenship, 54, of 50 Chateau Drive, was traveling north on Old Cedartown Road in a red Ford Focus when she saw a dog run across the road. When she attempted to dodge the animal, she lost control, hit a telephone poll and flipped into a ditch.

Blankenship was taken to Redmond Regional Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries.
