Darlington School graduate Tom Harbin, an Atlanta ophthalmologist, recently published “Waking Up Blind — Lawsuits Over Eye Surgery.”

The book examines a real-life scandal at a respected medical center, where patients were blinded in eyes that turned out not to need surgery at all.

Harbin used court documents, conversation transcripts, interviews and his own experiences to weave his story.
