Jennifer M. Corry, associate professor of Spanish at Berry College, has been inducted into the Order of the Discoverers by Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society. This is one of the organization’s highest honors.

Membership in the Order of the Discoverers includes such renowned literary figures as Vanessa Montfort, Antonio Porpetta, Carmen Laforet and Carmen Conde, as well as the retired chair of Berry’s foreign languages department, Dr. J. Kay Gardner, who was inducted in 2009.

A faculty member at Berry since 2000, Corry was honored for exceptional service to her profession and loyal promotion of the ideals of Sigma Delta Pi. Her contributions to the organization include service as faculty advisor for Berry’s Sigma Delta Pi chapter since 2004.

In addition to her work in the classroom, Corry has directed seven Spanish plays on the Berry campus and served as the Spanish coach for the Berry College Theatre Company’s production of “Boda de Sangre (Blood Wedding)” in which she played the role of La Muerte (Death). Other honors she has received include the Heart of Berry Award, which recognized her volunteer efforts on behalf of Peace Hospice.
