The astronauts were supposed to start surveying their ship Saturday morning for any signs of damage from launch debris. But they could not move the laser sensors and TV camera on the end of the 100-foot inspection boom.
Mission Control says the astronauts may be able to work around the problem.
Flight controllers, meanwhile, are monitoring some space junk that is threatening to come too close to the space station. They will decide Saturday evening whether to move the station into a slightly lower orbit. Even if the station has to dodge out of the way, it won't delay Sunday's docking by Atlantis.
