Ringgold will host 35th annual Jamboree

Ringgold will host its 35th annual 1890s Day Jamboree on Memorial Day weekend, May 28-29.

According to its website, 1890sday.com, the event will feature more than “100 food, arts and crafts booths, fireworks, live music on multiple stages, contests, beauty pageants, a parade, a classic car show and much more.”

The event is from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on May 29, and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on May 29, in downtown Ringgold.

Bluegrass gospel music can be heard on May 28, at 6 p.m. on the Cleveland Street stage with performances by Signs of Salvation, Cross Point Church, Beautiful Rescue, and Purrington.

On May 29, the Cleveland Street stage will host newcomers to the festival. Amber Fults, a local singer/songwriter, will kick off the show at 6 p.m., followed by local country/rock cover bands Frayed Knot and Common Ground. Also featured will be a parade, plus fiddle, guitar, mandolin and dance contests, as well as fireworks.

Admission is free, but tickets to make purchases from vendors can be purchased for $1.
