Every day for the last three weeks there have been three or four games to watch. I have not seen them all, but I have only missed four or five. But now that the quarterfinals are set, there is a two day break.
There will be two games on Friday and two games on Saturday and then there is a THREE DAY BREAK!! This means that five of the next seven days will be soccer-free. Of course I can get caught up on things I have been putting off. And of course, I will be able to help the wife when she has surgery on her broken arm. (Luckily that will be on Thursday so she won’t have to drive herself.) But Friday and Saturday it is back to the action!
I’ve got five of the eight quarterfinalist teams picked correctly. I messed up picking England. I also had Cameroon and Portugal as upset picks. But they were a gamble, so I don’t feel too bad about them. I never feel bad when Portugal lose.
Anyway, try to get through the next few days without too much trauma. No scores to check. No highlights on Sportscenter. But Friday there will be games. Uruguay/Ghana and Netherlands/Brazil. I’m picking Uruguay and Brazil.
But that’s three days away! Maybe I can watch the games I missed earlier. I love ESPN3!
