FORSYTH, Ga. (AP)-- Authorities say the body of a teenager who drowned in the Ocmulgee River in Monroe County has been found.

Allison Selman-Willis with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said the body of the 19-year-old was pulled from the river early Sunday morning. He had disappeared about 12 hours earlier when he fell off an inner tube and tried to swim to a dock in the river.

Selman-Willis said the teen wasn't wearing a life preserver and could not swim. The victim's name has not been released.

She said the body will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation lab for an autopsy.
